"Explore 'Due Justice': A Flick Lost in Its Own Plot, Despite Attempts to Break Away from the 'Taken' Mold!

'Due Justice' emerges as another addition to the string of action thrillers chasing the 'Taken' formula.
The narrative introduces Max (Kellan Lutz), an attorney who inadvertently gets entangled in a web of danger
when his past collides with his present. What follows is a relentless pursuit to rescue his abducted daughter,
unveiling a complex tale of deceit and crime.

The film kicks off with Max's celebratory dinner interrupted by his estranged brother, Jerry (Manu Intiraymi)
, setting off a chain of events involving the FBI, underground syndicates, and tragic losses.

As the plot unfolds, Max's ex-military past surfaces, hinting at a mysterious dishonorable discharge,
adding layers to his character's motives.

Directed by Javier Reyna, 'Due Justice' struggles to find its footing, evident in its flawed execution andlackluster pacing.
The initial hour is marred by excessive dialogue, delaying the action sequences and failing to ignite the
intended fervor. Reyna's handling of crucial moments, often leaving deaths off-screen and creating
inconsistencies, lessens the impact.

Surprisingly, the narrative sidelines Max for a significant portion, focusing more on Detective Santiago's
inquiries into missing children and organ trafficking, diluting the film's primary arc.
The last act attempts to elevate the action with Max's impulsive attempt to confront the antagonists,
only to be overshadowed by a predictable twist and a lackluster conclusion.

Despite intriguing subplots, including Max's discharge and Santiago's personal struggles,
they remain underdeveloped or abandoned, failing to add depth to the storyline.
The performances, though competent, suffer from uninspired characterizations,
with Fahey's portrayal of Ellis as the sole standout.

In its attempt to deviate from the 'Taken' trope, 'Due Justice' loses its grip on coherence,
leaving audiences unimpressed. While aiming for originality, the film succumbs to underwhelming
plotting and unresolved storylines, culminating in a disappointing denouement.

'Reyna's attempt to break the mold is evident, but the film's execution falls flat, turning 'Due Justice' into
a convoluted mess that even third-tier action aficionados might find hard to appreciate."
